๐Ÿ”ข PIN Generator

Result

Generate a batch of random numeric PIN codes โ€” like a phone unlock code or safe combination โ€” all at once. Choose the number of digits, and optionally prevent the same digit from repeating consecutively.

How to use

  1. Enter the number of digits and how many PINs to generate.
  2. Optionally turn on "No consecutive repeated digits".
  3. Click "Generate" to see a list of random PIN codes.
  4. Use the "Copy" buttons to copy an individual PIN or all of them.

How the calculation works

This tool draws 32-bit random numbers from the browser's cryptographically secure generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and takes the remainder after dividing by 10 as each digit, so every digit 0โ€“9 is equally likely for practical purposes. A PIN's strength is its number of combinations. With ten possibilities per digit, four digits give 10,000 combinations and six give a million. Each extra digit makes it ten times harder to guess. "No repeated digits in a row" draws again whenever a digit matches the one before, which avoids patterns like "1123" at the cost of slightly fewer possible combinations. PINs are freshly generated each time, and reloading the page gives new ones.

Worked example

One possible set of five 6-digit PINs 482915 037261 โ€ฆ There are a million 6-digit combinations. A single guess has a one-in-a-million chance, and combined with a limit on attempts, as phones enforce, that gives practical security.

Things to be aware of

  • Use this to avoid guessable PINs such as birthdays or "1234".
  • Do not reuse the same PIN across devices or services.
  • Generated PINs disappear when you close the page; store any you need somewhere safe.
  • Banks and card issuers may have their own rules, such as disallowed numbers.

FAQ

Are the generated PINs saved anywhere?

No. Generation happens entirely in your browser and nothing is ever sent or stored anywhere. Results disappear when you reload the page.

What's the maximum number of digits?

You can choose anywhere from 3 to 12 digits.

Is it safe to use a generated PIN as an actual passcode?

This uses a cryptographically secure random number generator, but for real-world use, choose a length that's hard to guess and avoid reusing the same PIN across services.
