How the calculation works
This tool estimates how many moving boxes you need from the number of people moving. Typical = people ร 12 boxes + 5 boxes (shared items such as kitchenware) Low end = typical ร 0.8 High end = typical ร 1.2 Twelve boxes per person covers clothes, books and everyday items packed in standard small and medium moving boxes. Dishes and cookware are counted separately as shared, since a household has a fair amount regardless of size. Belongings vary a lot between households, so a range is shown as well.
