How the calculation works
See in numbers how evenly two people share the housework. Give each chore points for how demanding it is and choose who does it, and the tool totals each personโs points and compares them with your target split. Person Aโs target = total points ร target share Difference = actual points โ target The target does not have to be 50:50; set 60:40 or any other split to reflect different working hours. Both names can be changed.

Things to be aware of
- Agree the points together, considering not just time but how unpleasant or frequent a chore is.
- Include the invisible chores too, such as replacing bin bags, restocking supplies and planning meals.
- The tool is for two people. For three or more, work it out in pairs.

How should I decide point values?
Base them on how much time or effort each chore takes, however makes sense for your household (e.g. 1 point for quick chores, 5 for demanding ones).
Can the target split be something other than 50/50?
Yes โ you can set 60/40, 70/30, or any split, accounting for differences in work schedules or time at home.
Can this handle more than two people?
This tool is built for a two-person split. For three or more people, calculate pairwise or adapt it to your needs.
