Pick how many days you'll be traveling and a trip type โ€” beach, mountain, business, or cold climate โ€” and this tool auto-generates a checklist-style packing list. Clothing quantities are automatically scaled to your trip length.

How to use

  1. Enter the number of days for your trip.
  2. Select any matching trip types (beach, mountain, business, cold climate) โ€” you can pick more than one.
  3. Check off items as you pack them to track your progress.

How the calculation works

Choose the number of days and the type of trip to get a packing list with checkboxes. Every list includes essentials, clothes, toiletries and electronics, plus extra items for the trip types you pick (beach, mountain, business, cold weather). You can pick more than one type. Clothes (T-shirts, underwear, socks, loungewear) are listed with one per day as a guide. Tick items as you pack them to see your progress.

Worked example

A three-day business trip Essentials: ID, wallet, phone, charger and so on Clothes: T-shirts ร— 3, underwear ร— 3, socks ร— 3 Business: suit, business cards, laptop charger, leather shoes Picking both mountain and cold weather adds warm clothing on top of hiking boots and rainwear.

Things to be aware of

  • On international flights, carry-on liquids must be in containers of 100 mL or less, all in a clear bag of up to 1 L (domestic flights in Japan are more relaxed).
  • Power banks cannot go in checked baggage; carry them in the cabin.
  • If you plan to do laundry, pack fewer clothes. Ticks are not saved.

FAQ

How are clothing quantities calculated?

Items like T-shirts, underwear, and socks default to roughly one per day of your trip. Adjust as needed if you plan to do laundry.

Can I select multiple trip types at once?

Yes. For example, you can combine "mountain" and "cold climate" to get both sets of items.

Are my checked items saved?

Only for as long as this page stays open โ€” they reset if you reload the page.
