How the calculation works
Enter an event name and a target date and time to see the time left until that moment in days, hours, minutes and seconds, updated every second. The target is taken as a time in your device’s time zone. The remaining time is recalculated from the target and the current time on every update, so it does not drift even if the page stays open for a long time. Seconds are rounded up while counting down (0.4 s left shows as 1 second), so the display reaches 00 exactly at the target time. After the target passes, it switches to showing the time elapsed since then.
Worked example
Target 00:00 on December 31, 2026, and now 12:00 on September 19, 2026 Remaining: 102 days 12 hours 00 minutes 00 seconds Set a deadline of 17:00 today to watch the time left tick down by the second while you plan your work.
Things to be aware of
- For an event abroad, convert its local time into your own time zone before entering it.
- A day is counted as 24 hours. Across a daylight saving change, the count can be an hour off in regions that observe it.
- Your settings are not saved when you close the page.
