๐ŸŒ… Sunrise & Sunset Calculator

Sunrise05:02
Sunset18:31
Solar noon11:46
Daylight length13.5 h

This is an estimate from a simplified astronomical formula (typically accurate to within about a minute) and may differ from official observed values.

Specify a location (latitude/longitude) and a date to calculate that day's sunrise, sunset, solar noon (when the sun is highest), and length of daylight. Based on the solar position formula widely used in astronomical calculations.

How to use

  1. Choose a city preset, or enter latitude/longitude directly.
  2. Choose the date you want to calculate for.
  3. Sunrise, sunset, solar noon, and daylight length are calculated automatically.

FAQ

What time zone are the results shown in?

Results are shown in the local time of whichever city preset's time zone was last selected. If you manually change the latitude/longitude, the display still uses that same time zone, so be careful when entering coordinates far from the selected preset.

When does it show "midnight sun" or "polar night"?

At high latitudes, around the summer solstice the sun may never set ("midnight sun"), and around the winter solstice it may never rise ("polar night"). On such days, this message is shown instead of sunrise/sunset times.

How accurate is this calculation?

It's based on a simplified solar position formula (the "sunrise equation") widely used by NOAA and in astronomical calculations, typically accurate to within about a minute. Effects like atmospheric refraction near the horizon can cause small differences from precise observed values.
