๐ World Clock
See the current time in multiple cities around the world side by side, updating live. Useful for scheduling meetings across time zones, checking time differences before a trip, or timing a message to a contact abroad.
How to use
- Use "Add a city" to choose the cities you want to track.
- The current time for each added city is shown side by side, updating live.
- Remove any city you no longer need to adjust the combination shown.
How the calculation works
This tool shows the current time in major cities side by side, with the date, day of the week and offset from UTC. Tokyo, New York, London and Sydney are shown first, and you can add or remove any of 12 cities. Each cityโs time comes from the world time zone data built into your browser (the IANA time zone database). Daylight saving time start and end dates are applied automatically, so the offset for the same city changes with the season.
Worked example
At 21:00 on Saturday, September 19 in Japan New York: 8:00 Saturday, September 19 (UTCโ4, daylight time) London: 13:00 Saturday, September 19 (UTC+1, summer time) Sydney: 22:00 Saturday, September 19 (UTC+10) When New Yorkโs daylight time ends in November, it becomes UTCโ5 and the gap to Japan grows from 13 to 14 hours.
Things to be aware of
- Offsets are shown like โGMT+9โ, meaning the difference from UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
- Countries switch to and from daylight saving time on different dates. The US and Europe change a few weeks apart, and in between the time difference is an hour off from usual.
- All times are based on your device clock. If it is off, every city is off by the same amount.
