How to use

How the calculation works
Enter a phone number and message to make a QR code that opens a new text message (SMS) with the recipient and text filled in. The code uses a format supported by most QR readers: SMSTO:phone number:message Numbers with an international prefix (such as +81) work too.
Worked example
SMSTO:+819012345678:I would like to enter Useful when people should send a fixed message to a fixed number, for competition entries or booking confirmations. Texting an overseas number may cost the sender international SMS charges.
Things to be aware of
- Nothing is sent until the person presses Send.
- Depending on the phone or app, the message text may not be filled in (only the recipient).
- One SMS holds about 70 Japanese characters or 160 plain English characters; longer messages may be split.
