Click a color in the image to make similarly-colored pixels transparent throughout. Works well for solid-color backgrounds (like a white-background product photo); it's not a subject cutout tool for complex backgrounds.
How to use

How the calculation works
Makes every pixel whose colour is close to the one you click fully transparent. It suits product shots on white, logos and other images with a near-solid background. How โcloseโ is measured The colour distance is the square root of the summed squared differences in red, green and blue: distance = โ(ฮredยฒ + ฮgreenยฒ + ฮblueยฒ) Pixels whose distance is at or below the threshold (0โ150) become fully transparent. The result is saved as PNG so the transparency is kept.
Worked example
Clicking white (255, 255, 255) with a threshold of 40 โข Light grey (240, 240, 240): distance โ(15ยฒ ร 3) โ 26 โ becomes transparent โข Pale grey (220, 220, 220): distance โ(35ยฒ ร 3) โ 61 โ kept If shadows or uneven patches survive, raise the threshold; if white parts of the subject disappear, lower it.
Things to be aware of
- Every close colour in the whole image is removed, not only the background. If the subject contains the background colour, it gets holes too.
- Pixels are either fully transparent or untouched, so a faint fringe of the old background can remain along soft edges.
- Processing happens in your browser; the image is never uploaded.
FAQ
Can this cut out people or complex backgrounds?
This tool is specialized for removing a single solid (or near-solid) color. It's not suited for photos where the subject and background aren't clearly separated by color.
How should I adjust the threshold?
A higher value removes pixels further from the picked color. Raise it if the background has uneven shading; lower it if parts of the subject start disappearing too.
Can I download as JPEG?
No. The result always downloads as PNG, since JPEG can't store transparency.
