Can this cut out people or complex backgrounds?
This tool is specialized for removing a single solid (or near-solid) color. It's not suited for photos where the subject and background aren't clearly separated by color.
How should I adjust the threshold?
A higher value removes pixels further from the picked color. Raise it if the background has uneven shading; lower it if parts of the subject start disappearing too.
Can I download as JPEG?
No. The result always downloads as PNG, since JPEG can't store transparency.
