๐ผ๏ธ Rounded Corners Generator
Drag and drop an image, or click to select
Upload an image and specify a corner radius (px) to generate a version with rounded corners. The rounded-off areas become transparent โ handy for rounding icons or featured images.
How to use
- Drag and drop an image, or click to select one.
- Set the corner radius (px).
- Click "Download PNG" to save it.
How the calculation works
Rounds the four corners of an image with arcs of the radius you choose. The cut-away corners become transparent, and the result is saved as PNG. The radius is in pixels of the original image. Values above half the shorter side are capped at half the shorter side. At that maximum a square image becomes a circle and a rectangular one becomes a capsule with semicircular ends.
Worked example
A 1200 ร 800 pixel image โข Radius 40: a card-like image with gently rounded corners โข Radius 400 (the maximum): a capsule with semicircular left and right ends Useful for giving blog header images or slide illustrations a softer look.
Things to be aware of
- The radius is measured in original pixels, so it looks smaller on screen when the image is scaled down. Use larger values for larger photos.
- JPEG cannot store transparency, so keep the result as PNG if you want the corners to stay transparent.
- Processing happens in your browser; the image is never uploaded.
FAQ
What happens if I set the radius too large?
If you set a radius larger than half the image's shorter side, it's automatically capped at half the shorter side (a larger radius would just produce a fully circular/oval shape, so it stops changing beyond that).
I want to crop to a full circle instead.
For a full circular crop, use the Circular Crop (Icon) Generator instead. This tool produces a rectangle with rounded corners.
Is the image uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens using your browser's Canvas API โ the image is never sent to a server.
