๐ง Memory Match
A classic memory matching game (Concentration / Shinkei-Suijaku). Flip two cards at a time to find all 8 matching emoji pairs in as few moves and as little time as possible. Good for a bit of mental exercise or a quick break.
How to use
- Click a face-down card to flip it.
- Flip a second card โ if the emojis match, you've found a pair.
- Keep going until all pairs are matched, and check your move count and elapsed time.
How the calculation works
A concentration (pairs) game: 16 cards with 8 pairs of emoji lie face down in a 4ร4 grid. Turn over two at a time to find matching pairs. Match all eight to finish; the game shows your moves (each pair of flips is one move) and time. Cards that do not match stay visible briefly, then turn back over. Remembering where you saw each picture is the key to finishing in few moves. The cards are shuffled every time you press New Game.
Worked example
The minimum is 8 moves (finding a pair every time). Even with perfect memory, many cards are seen for the first time, so finishing in about 12โ20 moves is a good result.
Things to be aware of
- Turning cards in order from one corner makes positions easier to remember.
- The timer starts at your first flip and stops when all pairs are matched.
- A memory game for children and adults alike.
