๐ฏ Random Picker
Enter candidates and click "Pick"
Enter a list of candidates and let this tool randomly pick one for you. Turn on "Remove from list after picking" to draw items one at a time without repeats, like a raffle.
How to use
- Enter one candidate per line.
- Optionally turn on "Remove from list after picking".
- Click "Pick" to randomly select one item.
- Click "Reset" to restore the original list.
How the calculation works
Enter options one per line and press Pick to choose one at random. Use it to settle lunch, chores, the order of presents or any decision you are stuck on. Every option is equally likely. Entering an option on several lines makes it more likely in proportion (weighting). Turn on โRemove after pickingโ and each picked option is taken out of the next draw, so you can draw them in order without repeats, like a lottery. The last 20 results are kept in the history.
Worked example
Options: curry, ramen, sushi, yakiniku, pasta Each is picked with probability 1/5 (20%). With ramen entered twice, ramen is 2/6 (about 33%) and the others 1/6 (about 17%). In remove mode, five picks choose each option exactly once.
Things to be aware of
- Spaces around options are trimmed and empty lines are ignored.
- Editing the options resets the removed items.
- If the result disappoints you, maybe it was not what you really wanted.
